Welcome to Flower Me Happy! My name is Anne-Marie Brown and I live in Southern Ontario with my husband, two teenagers and two terriers - a Scottish and an Irish.
Flower Me Happy is designed as place to share ideas, adventures , challenges and mishaps with flowers, gardening and design - both on my suburban property and in the local community.
A few years ago, I left a longtime career in communications and began "looking for my passion." I spent most of my time getting my hands dirty in the garden. I soon realized I had found my passion - in fact - gardening had always been my passion. However, the idea of pursuing horticulture professionally had never really crossed my mind.
I enrolled at The Canadian Institute of Floral Design and began a part-time hobby business. While I was confident designing flowers, it didn't take long to know there was a lot I needed - and still need - to learn about plant and environmental science.
In 2020, I began the Horticulture program at The University of Guelph and completed a Diploma in Horticulture-with focuses in Greenhouse Production and Landscape Design. I continue to pursue courses in Environmental Conservation and Landscape Design.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you join will the conversation!
